The Greek Orthodox Metropolis of San Francisco Stewardship Ministry invites you to join us on Monday, October 25, 2021 from 6:30p.m. to 8:00p.m. for a special presentation by Rev. Father James Kordaris on the topic of “Establishing a Planned Giving Program in Your Parish.” Father Jim will speak on the importance of encouraging planned giving and the establishment of a planned giving program. He will share the resources developed by the Archdiocese Department pf Stewardship, Outreach & Evangelism to assist the parish in establishing a planned giving program. Additional presentations will be offered by Development professionals Maria Pappas and Bill Navrides, both of whom will share knowledge from their vast experiences.

About Our Presenters
Rev. Father James Kordaris
Father Jim serves the Director of Stewardship, Outreach & Evangelism for the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America. Before entering the seminary, he served in many capacities at his home parish of St. Mary’s in Minneapolis under the leadership of Rev. Father Anthony Coniaris. He served six years on the Parish Council including two years as President. He also served the parish as Bible Study leader, camp counselor, Festival Co-Chair, Stewardship Chair and more.
Fr Jim has BA and MBA degrees from the University of Minnesota. Following twelve years in the financial services industry, he entered Holy Cross, receiving his Master of Divinity degree. Following his ordination, he served parishes in Jamaica, NY and Roslyn Heights, NY. In January of 2003, Father Jim was appointed Director of the new Archdiocese Department of Outreach & Evangelism. In 2009 Stewardship Ministry was added to his responsibilities.
Father Jim served as pastor of Saint George Church on West 54th Street in New York City from 2004 to 2018. In 2018, he requested and received assignment to Saint George Church in Kingston, New York
Maria Pappas
Maria Pappas is Vice President of Development at The Tech Interactive and has been in the role for the past 9 years. Prior to joining The Tech, Maria was in a variety of management and fundraising positions at the American Heart Association for over 20 years including serving as Executive Director for the Silicon Valley office. Maria has often been charged with turning around a struggling department or team into a strong development arm for the organization. Under her leadership The Tech has raised over $100M during her tenure.
Maria was involved in the early days helping to set up processes for St. Nicholas' campaign to build their new community hall. Maria's COVID hobbies include a new puppy named Bruno and starting her Master's in Nonprofit Leadership and Management which she plans to finish up this spring
Bill Navrides
Bill Navrides is Director of Development for Grossmont Hospital Foundation and has been in this role for the past 16 years. Before that Bill was at the American Heart Association for 5 years. Bill’s is responsible for 3 large special events bringing in over $1.2 million annually for Grossmont Hospital. Bill also has Major Gift responsibilities and works closely with over 125 donors. Bill has volunteered for the Church for over 28 years in a variety of capacities mostly recently as GOYA Director for St. Spyridon in San Diego.
