The origins of the Saint Barbara Greek Orthodox Church date from the early 1900's. At that time, several Greeks had immigrated to Santa Barbara, opening businesses and settling down. By the late 1930's, these families dedicated themselves to founding an Orthodox house of worship in order to preserve and perpetrate the Orthodox Christian Faith.

Today, Saint Barbara Greek Orthodox Church continues to share the Light of Christ in Santa Barbara. Her parishioners are dedicated to worship, fellowship and service to the community. We ask that our Lord, God and Savior Jesus Christ continue to bless our parish and our city, through the intercessions of Saint Barbara.
