On Friday, May 14, 2021, the Metropolis of San Francisco Philoptochos hosted a virtual dinner for our students currently attending Hellenic College Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology. Though this event is customarily held in-person, the ongoing pandemic restrictions prevented a celebratory dinner, but the creativity and perseverance of the Metropolis of San Francisco Philoptochos prevailed with the delivery of DoorDash gift cards so each of our students and their families could enjoy dinner and fellowship while gathered on Zoom. Students joined from campus in Brookline, MA, from their homes in California, Washington, and Nevada, and even one student studying abroad in Israel.
In addition to the students from the Metropolis of San Francisco attending HCHC, members of the Metropolis Philoptochos Board participated under the leadership of President Jeannie Ranglas, along with His Eminence Metropolitan Gerasimos of San Francisco, HCHC President George Cantonis, and Rev. Father Jon Magoulias, Vice Chair of the HCHC Board of Directors.
