The Greek Orthodox Metropolis of San Francisco invites you to an inspirational weekend benefitting Hellenic College/Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology on the occasion of its 75th Anniversary. Parishes throughout the Metropolis have been asked to support this most worthy cause, and the faithful in northern California are especially encouraged to attend the events which have been planned.

The weekend will begin with Great Vespers for the Feast of Saint Gerasimos on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church, 900 Alameda de las Pulgas, Belmont, California. The guest homilist will be Father Maximos of Simonopetra who will speak on the topic “Greet All the Saints in Christ Jesus”. Following Vespers, a celebratory dinner will be held, with all proceeds benefiting Hellenic College/Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology. The program will include a special presentation by Rev. Father James Katinas, Director of Institutional Advancement for the school. View the event's page for more information on sponsorships and tickets.

On Sunday, October 20, 2013 we will celebrate the Feast of Saint Gerasimos of Cephalonia, the patron saint of His Eminence Metropolitan Gerasimos of San Francisco. Orthros will begin at 8:30 a.m., with the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy at 10:00 a.m., to be held at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church in Belmont, California. The guest homilist will be Father Maximos of Simonopetra who will offer a reflection on the theme, “Rejoice that Your Names are Written in Heaven.” A reception will be held immediately following the Liturgy.

“Our beloved school has provided generations of inspired clergy leadership for our Archdiocese and, on the occasion of its 75th Anniversary, we have the unique opportunity to offer our support for the only Greek Orthodox theological school in the United States,” stated His Eminence Metropolitan Gerasimos of San Francisco. “It is an honor for us to host these events and demonstrate our commitment to providing for the future clergy and lay leaders of our Church.”
