The Greek Orthodox Metropolis of San Francisco Missions and Evangelism Ministry is pleased to announce the 2023 Missions and Evangelism Conference which will be held at Saint Nicholas Ranch and Retreat Center in Dunlap, CA, on Tuesday, June 6 through Thursday, June 8, 2023. The theme for this conference is, “Let Your Light Shine . . . For You Shall Be Witnesses to Me”. The featured speaker for this conference will be Rev. Father Luke Veronis has been involved with the Orthodox church’s missionary movement since 1987 and brings a valuable perspective on the missions and evangelism efforts as an effort to grow our faith.

Join with others who are passionate about spreading the Orthodox faith, share resources and ideas, and collaborate on ways that we, as individuals and parishes, can Spread the Word and inspire and engage our parishioners to look beyond the walls of our communities, and to reach out and bring in people who are searching to know the love, peace and grace from Jesus Christ.

Father Gerasimos Markopoulos, Proistamenos of St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Eugene, Oregon, and Mr. Kenny Scott, a dedicated layman currently enrolled in the Diaconate Program, from Prescott, Arizona are the Missions and Evangelism Ministry team co-leaders. Father Jerry and Kenny lead a ministry team of like-minded clergy and laypersons, who are all passionate about helping our parishes share the Orthodox faith.

Fr. Luke Veronis

Director for the Missions Institute of Orthodoxy Christianity

Father Luke serves as the Director for the Missions Institute of Orthodoxy Christianity, which is located at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology and teaches as an Adjunct Instructor at both Holy Cross and Hellenic College since 2005. He taught at St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary in NY (2005-2008), and guest lectured at St. Herman’s Seminary in Kodiak, Alaska and at the Institute for Orthodox Christian Studies in Cambridge, UK. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Orthodox Christian Mission Center (OCMC) in St. Augustine, FL.

Fr. Luke also pastors Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Webster, MA since December 2004. He and his wife Presbytera Faith have witnessed a wonderful turnaround of this parish, which has grown from a parochial church of 90 families to a vibrant, outreaching, missions-minded church of 160 families.
