The highly anticipated Greek Village is returning in 2025, and the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of San Francisco is excited to announce that applications for staff positions are now available. This immersive experience, inspired by the beauty and tradition of the Greek Orthodox faith and culture, provides youth participants with an unforgettable opportunity to grow spiritually, culturally, and personally.
Greek Village 2025 is a unique week-long program that brings participants into a vibrant, hands-on environment that captures the essence of traditional village life. Set against the backdrop of a re-created Greek village, participants will explore Greek language, dance, music, faith, and history in a program that has touched the lives of many youth in our Metropolis and beyond. Saint Nicholas Ranch and Retreat Center in Dunlap, CA provides the perfect backdrop for this program which is scheduled for June 15 – 21, 2025.
This year, Greek Village is looking for dedicated, enthusiastic individuals to join our team as staff members. Staff will play an essential role in creating an enriching experience, leading participants through interactive lessons, engaging activities, and daily worship. We are seeking those who have a passion for Hellenic culture and Orthodox faith, a commitment to youth ministry, and a desire to make a lasting impact.
We are currently hiring for the following positions:
- Program Director: The Program Director is responsible for the planning and execution of daily operations during the week of Greek Village. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a summer camp ministry, a passion for Greek language and culture, and a love for Christ and His Church.
- Greek Language Instructors: We are seeking 4 individuals to provide instruction to our campers over the week of Greek Village. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in teaching Greek to a variety of age and ability levels. Curriculum and teaching materials will be provided.
- Counselors: Our counselors make the week of Greek Village memorable and exciting. We are seeking 15-20 counselors to spend a week with us at Saint Nicholas Ranch and Retreat Center in Dunlap, CA. Counselors should have a love for their Orthodox Christian faith and Hellenic culture.
- Program Staff: We are seeking 2 exceptional individuals to assist us in programming especially for Greek dance, music, and arts/crafts. The ideal candidates will have a demonstrated experience working with young people in their local communities or at the Metropolis level.
- Lifeguards: We are seeking 2 certified lifeguards to ensure that all of our participants have a safe and healthy experience.
Staff Requirements
- Commitment to the Greek Orthodox faith and values
- Experience in youth ministry and working with young people
- Availability for training and the full duration of Greek Village 2025 (June 2025)
- Strong communication and leadership skills
