The Greek Orthodox Metropolis of San Francisco will host its annual Greek Language Educators’ Fall Reception and Meeting on Sunday, November 17, 2013 at the Ascension Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 4700 Lincoln Avenue, Oakland, CA. Divine Liturgy will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by an Artoklasia Service in honor of the Greek Language Schools in the Metropolis of San Francisco. The reception and meeting will begin at 12:30 p.m. This event is being coordinated by the Hellenic Education and Culture Committee (HECC) of the Metropolis. All Greek School directors, teachers, and any other interested individuals who are actively involved with the Greek language programs in their community are invited to attend.

The Metropolis Chancellor, Archimandrite Apostolos Koufallakis, will lead the meeting at which participants will have the opportunity to exchange educational programs, specify common challenges, and propose creative ideas for future initiatives. In addition, each community may offer a brief five-minute presentation on their Greek language program. HECC will also briefly share its vision and projects for the current academic year, allowing time for a fruitful dialogue between the participants.
