George Anagnostopoulos
George Anagnostopoulos has served as the Chairman of the Metropolis of San Francisco Young Adult League (YAL) Conference from 2019 - 2022. During his tenure as Chairman, he oversaw all young adult committee operations, strategy, programming and event execution. This year, he serves as the young adult advisor to the Conference Committee, sharing his knowledge and experience with the next generation of young adult leaders.
George is passionate about bringing young adults towards the church, keeping the YAL movement alive and emphasizing the importance of the four YAL pillars: faith, fellowship, worship and service. Since the YAL Conference was revitalized in 2019, the event has grown from 350 registrants to 650 registrants from 45 states across the archdiocese and has since created a resurging YAL Movement. Four other Metropolises have since hosted their own Metropolis YAL Conference. Taking the momentum of the annual YAL Conference, George and his colleagues created a new program called YAL In Your Backyard, which gives young adults the support and network to create young adult led, grass- root events and get togethers in their local communities throughout the year. George works full time in commercial real estate for a private Southern California real estate investment and development firm. The ministries of the church have shaped who he is today and he is excited to be able to give back and positively impact his generation of young adults.
