The Greek Orthodox Metropolis of San Francisco is honored to welcome the 93rd AHEPA Family Supreme Convention to the west coast from July 1 – July 5, 2015. This year’s gathering will be held at the Hyatt Regency Embarcadero in San Francisco and will welcome thousands of members from the AHEPA family in celebration of our faith and culture.
A person well-known to the Metropolis of San Francisco, Theofanis Economidis, an Archon of the Ecumenical Patriarchate and devoted steward of the church, is being honored with the Aristotle Award in recognition of his tremendous efforts on behalf of the Greek-American community, not just within the Metropolis, but throughout the United States. Fanis is a long-time member of AHEPA. This award is being presented at the Grand Banquet on Saturday, July 4, 2015, at the Hyatt Regency Embarcadero with the reception to begin at 6:00 p.m., followed by dinner at 7:00 p.m.
“It is a joy to welcome the Order of AHEPA to the Metropolis of San Francisco for your Supreme Convention. I pray your deliberations will be met with much success and many blessings from the Lord,” said His Eminence Metropolitan Gerasimos. “We are especially grateful to AHEPA for recognizing one of our most beloved stewards and leaders, Theofanis Economidis. Fanis has been a tireless worker for the preservation of our faith and for the perpetuation of Hellenism. He is very deserving of this honor and I hope that many of our faithful will join in celebrating this great achievement.”
The Metropolis is also honored to welcome His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America to San Francisco for the AHEPA Supreme Convention. His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios will be in attendance at the AHEPA Grand Banquet on Saturday evening, and will also celebrate the Divine Liturgy on Sunday, July 5 at the Annunciation Cathedral in San Francisco.
